Membership gives you access to more of the Feather & Flame community, including private classes and events that aren’t listed on our public calendar.

What membership offers
Play parties and social events
These events are open only to vetted members to help us maintain a welcoming, safety-conscious environment. Most take place at venues other than our Burlington educational center.
Special discounts
We periodically offer members special discounts as a thank-you to our community.
Volunteer tickets
Members who help with class setup and breakdown can access discounted volunteer tickets, making participation more affordable.
Starting November 2026, all volunteer tickets will be available only to members.
The application process

A thoughtful application helps us get to know you. Here’s what to expect from the process.
What are the criteria for membership?
We keep our detailed vetting criteria private to help protect our community and the integrity of the process.
In general, we look for an interest in the community, a strong foundation in practicing consent, and an understanding of modern kink etiquette.
You do not need to have taken a class at our studio before applying. We do strongly recommend Kinky Connections, which is typically offered about once a month.
What if my application isn’t accepted?
Our vetting process is selective, and an unsuccessful first application doesn’t necessarily close the door to membership.
After an unsuccessful application, you can take Kinky Connections or Intro to Dominance and Submission, then reapply. If you’ve already taken both classes, or prefer not to take them, please wait six months before applying again.
We ask that you respect the decision and communicate respectfully. Hostility or arguing over a membership decision may result in a permanent ban from Feather & Flame.
Does being vetted by another organization help?
We may consider membership or vetting at other organizations, but it does not guarantee acceptance here. Our decisions are based on our own criteria and your application responses.
